Dr Ahamed Kameel Mydrin Meera
( Prof. Dato' Dr. Ahamed Kameel )

Alhamdullilah, Berkat Hari Jumaat sekali lagi.

Sila Rujuk:-https://www.ahamedkameel.com/fiat-money-and-economic-degradation-of-the-malays/

Beliau memberikan kebenaran dan menghantar melaui WA kata-kata beliau untuk saya gunakan.
Tulisan beliau:-

" Amirul Hj. Mohamad has penned a timely book.

The book addresses the issue of what constiutes Sunnah money and compares that with the monetary units used in the Malay archipelago, in particular that during the Malay sultanate era in Peninsular Malaya.

It then highlights how this definition and practice of Sunnah money in the Malay Sultanate was hijacked and corrupted by the British after the establishment of the Straits Settlement in Penang, Melaka and Singapore in 1826.

Prior to that the locals and international traders used metal coins made of gold, silver and tin as money.

The colonial banks however began to issue ringgits of paper that replaced the original ringgit which was a 20gm silver coin, the picture of which adorns the cover of this book.

The deception and the systematic financial exclusion of the Malays and Muslim traders caused their economic domnance to be eroded severely and ultimately lost till today.

In essence, therefore the book highlights the deceptions within the monetary and constitutional framework perpetrated by the British.

The effects of this double corruption can be felt today where even the Islamic Banking system is not based on Sunnah money and therefore remains dominated by the ribawi money and conventional banking system.

The Malays have not only lost their economic dominance, but currently also on the verge of losing their political dominance.

The current Covid-19 crisis provides an excellent opportunity to revisit this historical anecdote and make the necessary monetary, constitutional and political reparations needed to regain that lost sovereignity. "
